A Sponsored Rider is a youth participant who receives support through the Silver Stirrup Foundation to take part in structured equestrian programming. Sponsored Riders receive regular riding lessons, horsemanship education, and hands-on experience with horses in a safe and supportive environment. The program may also include educational field trips, eligibility to participate in tournaments or competitions, and access to camps or special events when available. Together, these experiences provide consistent instruction, skill development, and personal growth while helping remove financial barriers that may otherwise limit a student’s ability to participate.

Silver Stirrup Foundation offers rider support opportunities for youth who are passionate about horses and eager to participate in lessons, camps, tournaments, or competitive programs but may face financial barriers. Support is awarded based on availability, commitment, and alignment with the Foundation’s mission. Riders and families interested in being considered for sponsorship or scholarship support are encouraged to apply using the link below. Full details, eligibility requirements, and application information can be found on the application page. (COMING SOON)
For many young people, time with horses is more than a lesson — it’s a place of belonging, confidence, and growth. Unfortunately, the cost of riding lessons and equestrian programs can place these opportunities out of reach for families who want more for their children but lack the financial means. Without sponsorship, many motivated youth would never have the chance to step into the arena.
Your sponsorship opens the gate. It provides access to consistent riding lessons, hands-on horsemanship education, and experiences that build confidence, responsibility, and resilience. Through your support, youth gain more than riding skills — they find mentorship, purpose, and a sense of possibility. Together, we can ensure that passion and potential are never limited by circumstance.

This level helps ensure continuity in instruction, allowing riders to build skills, confidence, and responsibility through regular participation. Lesson Champions are recognized as key supporters of youth education through horses.
