The SSF Youth Show Team is a competitive equestrian program created to give motivated youth riders the opportunity to participate in the show world with structure, support, and purpose. The program is designed for students from elementary age through high school who have the dedication and desire to compete, but may not have full access to the financial resources required for a full show season. Through team-based training and sponsorship support, riders are given the chance to gain real show experience while developing confidence, discipline, and pride in their accomplishments.
Each year, the Youth Show Team may consist of 2 - 10 riders, depending on availability, funding, and individual commitment. Riders represent the Silver Stirrup Foundation in and out of the arena, learning what it means to compete with integrity while being part of something bigger than themselves.

While showing is a central component of the program, the SSF Youth Show Team places equal emphasis on character development. Riders are encouraged to cultivate grace, teamwork, strong work ethic, accountability, and compassion—values that carry far beyond the show ring. Team members learn to support one another, represent the Foundation with professionalism, and understand the responsibility that comes with opportunity.
In addition, the Youth Show Team participates in service days throughout the year, partnering with other nonprofits and community organizations in need of support. These experiences help riders give back, build perspective, and recognize the importance of service within the equestrian community and beyond.
Sponsorships and donations directly support the Silver Stirrup Foundation Youth Show Team, ensuring riders have access to meaningful competition and growth opportunities throughout the show season. All contributions are allocated with transparency and purpose to maximize impact.
Eighty percent (80%) of all funds raised are designated to the Youth Show Team Fund, which directly covers essential show-related expenses such as class entry fees, stall fees, transportation, and other necessary costs associated with competition. This fund supports riders collectively throughout the season, allowing the team to participate consistently and successfully.
The remaining twenty percent (20%) is allocated to the Rider Scholarship and Academic Scholarship Funds, which are designed to help defray the costs of competitive riding and support scholarly pursuits. These funds allow for multiple scholarship awards to be granted, extending support to riders both in the arena and in their academic journeys.
Together, these funds ensure that youth riders are supported holistically—through competition, education, and long-term opportunity.
