At the age of 10 months, Cassandra Trimaloff met a horse for the first time creating a lifelong journey that would lead her to where she is today. At the age of five, she began riding lessons at the Phoenix zoo, where she rode for two years before taking hunter lessons. Rode hunter under saddle for the next five years, and was introduced to the Arabian community. In 2019 she began taking saddleseat lessons at Apex Riding Academy and there was no going back. She started competing in the barn’s Silver Stirrup Tournaments soon after, finding her love to compete. In 2020 Cassie began showing in the academy division, and competed in every competition she could for the next three show seasons. She loves to be around horses for so many reasons, the community, support, adrenaline, but most importantly because of the horses.
Cassie’s passion for horses doesn’t stop there, she began to volunteer every Saturday to help tack horses up in between lessons. By summer, Cassie began working with the performance horses, treating each horse as if it was her own. When shows are happening she would come out to help behind the scenes. From time to time she will work with some more challenging horses that are brought in. Cassie loves to share what she has learned with new riders and so she runs camps for Apex. She has grown as a rider and as a horsewoman because of all this and has learned valuable life skills.
Cassie is currently attending AAEC-PV high school as a sophomore, and taking the veterinarian path to pursue becoming an equine veterinarian. The school pays for college classes at Paradise Valley Community College and has a pathway to earn an associate degree before high school graduation. Cassie became very active at her school by becoming an FFA member and attending multiple meetings and conferences as well as competing in the horse evaluation CDE. She competed at districts last year and this year placing 5th and 6th individually and placing 2nd and 1st as a team. Competed at state this year with the team placing third overall out of 33 teams and placed 32nd overall out of 133 individuals. She was also accepted as a member of NHS this year with over 20 other possible candidates, being one of the largest candidate pool the school has had. After high school Cassie hopes to be accepted into UOA to begin studying for a science bachelor's degree in Equine Emphasis, to then follow her dream of becoming an equine veterinarian and take the veterinary medicine program.
Cassie Trimaloff, our first-ever sponsored rider, is set to compete in a Regional competition this season with Youth Nationals as her ultimate goal! Unfortunately, we will be bidding farewell to Cassie as she relocates with her family to California from Arizona's Daniel Training Center this summer. However, we are thrilled that she will continue her passion for Arabian horses under the guidance of Austin Eversman at Stachowski Farms. We are grateful that they have offered to foster Cassie as she continues to pursue her dreams.
We offer our heartfelt congratulations to Cassie and all of our generous donors whose contributions made this dream possible. This is only the beginning for Cassie; she also plans to compete in other events throughout the year with the help of donations from our supporters.
Cassie is working hard to compete at the Regional and National competitions this season. The funds required for her to participate will be upwards of $15,000. With the right sponsors and generous donations, she can make it there. Any kind of support will contribute to getting Cassie closer to fulfilling her dream, so if you are willing to come on board as a sponsor or even donate a few dollars, it would mean the world to her. Every bit helps!
