Our Mission

At the Silver Stirrup Foundation 501 (c) (3), we believe that everyone should have an opportunity to learn about and experience the sport of equestrian, regardless of financial means. Through our mission to provide engaging activities and educational training, we open up a world of possibility for our participants to explore their dreams around horses. Horses are incredible teachers, often empowering confidence, bringing out compassionate behavior and encouraging communication skills in our participants. They also emphasize additional life skills such as responsibility and team development. The long-lasting friendships forged on this journey contribute to an incredibly rewarding experience for each of our participants.

Giving young riders a place to learn, grow, and belong

Sponsoring a rider at the lesson level helps provide youth with access to riding lessons and meaningful horse experiences they may not otherwise be able to afford. This sponsorship supports young students as they learn horsemanship, build confidence, and develop life skills through a structured riding program. The Silver Stirrup Foundation Youth Show Team is a competitive equestrian program created to provide motivated young riders with structured training, mentorship, and meaningful show experience in a team-based environment. Designed to support both personal and athletic development, the program emphasizes horsemanship, responsibility, confidence, and sportsmanship while helping riders build the skills needed to progress in the show ring. Rooted in the Silver Stirrup Foundation’s mission of accessibility and education, the Youth Show Team offers opportunities for riders from a variety of backgrounds to grow through competition while being supported on and off the horse.
